Even 10 minutes spent in nature and wilderness can affect positively our the mental health of people diagnosed with mental illnesses. The meta-analysis of the existing research on this topic reveals that exposure to nature reduces stress, improves our mood and contributes to correct work of our congnitive functions. Even more benefits can be observed in case of regular, prolonged outdoor activities, such as gardening or camping.
Contact with nature is beneficial to each one of us. I would like to encourage everyone to try and find at least a few minutes daily to enjoy the walk around the park, or to carry out simple tasks outside. Your minds will be greateful!
